Was NBA 2K22 a great game? Was it as good as much of the community says? Let's examine the highlights in NBA 2K22.

1. Gameplay Feels More Realistic
It's not just the defense that got an upgrade in terms of gameplay. The entire game feels better for a handful of reasons.
1). For one thing, everything moves smoother outside of the aforementioned awkward animations you get from time to time.
2). The AI reacts to everything in a more realistic fashion, reading things like screens or cuts to the basket even while off the ball.
3). The dribbling is also improved, so guys like Kyrie Irving feel different to control than average ball handlers.
4). Lastly, the new shot meter works well.
2. MyNBA/MyWNBA Got Some Updates
This year's version of MyNBA/MyWNBA includes new features in staffing and preparation. Users can now build an entire front office staff of four departments, employing 17 staff members. The Mode now features a Prep Hub that puts all of the information about your team into a single menu. NBA 2K22 has also added training updates to MyNBA/MyWNBA, which add another layer to running a franchise.
3. MyCareer Feels Alive
Unlike the last-gen versions, the MyCAREER mode takes you to The City, which is your path to endless opportunities for your MyPLAYER. It transforms NBA 2K22 into an open-world RPG, filled with engaging quests and memorable NPCs. You can interact with other players in The City and ride a bicycle to explore new areas.
4. Improved Defense
Interior defense has needed a boost in their abilities for a while now. Because screens are so ridiculously overpowered, defenders are constantly playing and losing, a game of catchup against offenses that have so many ways to get around defenders.
While steals and blocks could still use an overhaul, some extra animations were made toward stripping the ball and blocking shots against slashing players this year. It's nice to see those players who use this same tired tactic finally forced to try other strategies.
5. Presentation Is Nailed Again
The presentation is easily the best in any sports gaming franchise, and once again, this installment nails almost every part of it, down to the soundtrack. The commentary continues to be incredibly smooth, which is challenging to pull off given how fast-moving basketball is. It feels more natural and like an actual broadcast than in slower sports like baseball or football games. The graphics are also impressive, as are the pre-game shows and things like that.
